1.  Creating a MultiRegion Skirmish
===================================
1) Be sure to follow the instructions in the "Important Patch Information!.txt" file included in this zip archive, or the mission you make may not work correctly.
2) Unzip the "Draconious MultiRegion Base.skm" file to X-Wing Alliance's SKIRMISH folder.
3) Open X-Wing Alliance. Go to the Single Player Skirmish Editor or use Troy Dangerfield's SkirmED Beta program from troyed.com.
4) Load the "Draconious MultiRegion Base.skm" file. This file should be the base of your multiregion skirmish because it has an unknown enabled.
5) Create your mission. Your mission can have no more than two teams and must be a Combat mission for MultiRegion to work. If you are going to use AlliED or another mission editor to enhance your mission, it is advisable to only add the craft to the skirmish that you want the player to fly and/or change within the Skirmish Editor. You will be able to build the rest of the mission later in your mission editor.
6) Save your new Skirmish as a new file name BEFORE you play the skirmish.
7) Press the Begin button to play the skirmish and generate a temp.tie file. You do not need to play through the entire skirmish. Just load it and quit.

2. Additional Instructions for Tweaking the Skirmish in AlliED
===============================================================
Follow these instructions from Step 7 if you are going to edit your Skirmish mission with a third-party mission editor! If you are not, skip to Step 12.

8) Go to XWA's SKIRMISH folder and copy the temp.tie file into a new folder.
9) Open up AlliED and load the temp.tie file in the new folder that you created.
10) Edit it just like a regular XWA mission. There are several differences. The Arrival of a craft in a region as a condition for an order or an action does not appear to work. If you find any of these broken conditions, please e-mail me at chrisw10@njoproject.com.
11) Test often! To test, follow the instructions on how to load ALLIED MULTIREGION Skirmishes, found in the "Installation Notes.txt" file that was bundled with this text file.

3.  The Final Steps
===================
12) When you are finished, be sure to apply a prefix onto the end of the SKM file that you created. Temp.tie should not be renamed. This is a standard method of telling the player just what he or she needs to do to play that Skirmish. Below is a list of prefixes and what they mean.

	A) ALLIED MULTIREGION - The AlliED prefix means that the mission was tweaked using
	    a third-party mission editor, namely AlliED. The MULTIREGION prefix means that
	    this mission allows you to move through hyperspace to several different regions.
	    Use this prefix if your mission meets this criteria. (Example: ALLIED
	    MULTIREGION 4P Artoo Rescue.skm)

	B) MULTIREGION - The MULTIREGION prefix means that this mission allows you to move
	    through hyperspace to several different regions. Use this prefix if your
	    mission meets this criteria and was NOT tweaked using a mission editor.
 	    (Example:  MULTIREGION 2P Starchaser Duel.skm)

	C) ALLIED - The AlliED prefix means that the mission was tweaked using a
	    third-party mission editor, namely AlliED. Use this prefix if your mission
	    meets this criteria and does NOT use multiple regions. It also most resembles
	    X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter combat missions. (EXAMPLE: ALLIED 8P Frigate Duel -
	    Malevolent vs Endeavor.skm)

13) If you plan to distribute this Skirmish, bundle your temp.tie file and your Skirmish file together in a zip file. The player will need these two files for the skirmish to work. Also do not forget to include the "Important Patch Information!.txt" file, the "Draconious MultiRegion Base.skm" Skirmish file, this text file, "Readme.txt", and the "Installation Notes.txt" file. Then just upload to any website.

4. A Word to the Wise
======================
WARNING: If you are going to use a mission maker for further editing, do NOT move the craft around in the Craft list that you created in the Skirmish Editor. This will presumably mess up the game, because XWA uses the SKM file that you created as a template to place players in the correct ships. If you move the ships around, the mission will not work right!
